Ohio police are urging parents to check their children's Halloween candy after a child found a razor blade in a Snicker's bar during trick-or-treating in Reynoldsburg, Ohio Thursday night.
A group of children finished trick-or-treating and were splitting up candy when one of the children noticed something strange about a piece of their candy, according to Reynoldsburg Police Lt. Shane Mauger.
"The child went to bite into the Snicker's and it didn't feel right, so they stopped and noticed an object in it, which appeared to be a disposable razor blade," Mauger told USA TODAY Network.
He said they believe someone tried to conceal the razor blade by stuffing it inside of the candy bar.
And while this incident is alarming, Mauger believes it may be isolated.
"This is the first time in 19 years that I've handled anything like this," he said.
No one was hurt, and police are investigating.
Mauger said parents should be wary of candy that appears to have been tampered with and call law enforcement immediately.
