Pastor provides counseling after Macon shootings

The local church wants to provide a better environment for youth in the area.

After this past weekend's shootings, some Macon churches are taking action.

We want to emphasize the children you see in this video were not involved in any violent activities that happened recently.

Leaders at one local church we visited believe it is important to reach children and young adults as soon as possible to make sure that they understand how important it is to surround themselves with positive people. Pastor Paul Little of Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church talked about the importance of reaching young people.

"We want our message to be that our church along with other area congregations are concerned about our youth and young adult population," he said. "So, we want to partner together to provide counseling services as well as strategies moving forward to help our young people to grow up in an environment that's healthy and whole."
