MACON, Ga. — Due to the amount of rain over the past two days, Macon-Bibb County has closed several parts of Amerson River Park as well as Ocmulgee Heritage Trail because of high river levels.
In a post on the Macon-Bibb County Facebook page, officials say the boat launch, boat take out and pond trail are closed.
The playground at the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail below the Spring Street bridge is also closed until further notice.
As of 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning, the river was in minor flood stage, according the National Weather Service.
