The National Weather Service on Wednesday night confirmed that a tornado that blew through Warner Robins on April 1 did hit Robins AFB.
Initial reports on the confirmed EF-1 tornado in Warner Robins did not conclude that the base was hit.
The tornado touched down northeast of Centerville at 7:42 a.m. packing winds of up to 90 mph traveling 4.9 miles with a width of 350 yards, according to the NWS.
The NWS also confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down in Twiggs County during the Friday storms bringing the total number of central Georgia tornadoes to four -- two EF-0 tornadoes in Taylor, Crawford and Twiggs counties and two EF-1s in Warner Robins and Allentown.
The tornado that blew through Taylor and Crawford counties had estimated wind speeds of 80 mph traveling 1.35 miles with a width of 300 yards, according to the NWS.
