BYRON, Ga. — A new pizza restaurant opened in Byron last month.
Fresh Pie Pizza serves pizza, lasagna, calzones, wings, and other Italian-style meals. Folks can get their meal by stopping by or calling for delivery.
Owner Matthew Howard says the restaurant is family-owned with a family-friendly atmosphere.
"The dough recipe is actually my great aunt's chicken and dumpling recipe," he said. "They make dumplings out of it, and we turned it into a pizza dough."
Howard was born and raised in Central Georgia, and he 's bee in the pizza business in some capacity since 2005.
There will be a grand opening weekend held for Fresh Pie Pizza June 7 and 8. That Friday, June 7, 95.1 will be on location, and Ariana Grande tickets will be given away. On Saturday, 99.1 will be there, and they will give away Six Flags tickets.
The restaurant is located at 6001 Watson Boulevard and opens from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Fridays, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 4 p.m.-9 p.m. on Sundays.
