New early voting location in Macon-Bibb

Macon-Bibb County has a new early voting location at the Historic Macon Terminal Station.

Macon-Bibb County has a new early voting location at the Historic Macon Terminal Station.

Early voting for the party primary and non-partisan general election starts Monday across the state.

Polling locations in Macon-Bibb County will open Monday at 8:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. This goes on each day until Friday, May 20th.

The new polling location is on the Plum Street side of the Terminal Station. You can also vote at the Bibb County Board of Elections at 2445 Pio Nono Avenue. But when November first rolls, around you will have to vote at your precinct.

Jeanetta Watson, the elections Supervisor, tells WMAZ she hopes by offering a second early voting location will reduce wait times.

She says since Terminal Station is at the center of the public transit system, she hopes that will increase voter turnout and it might be a little easier for the community to get to.

If you have questions about where to vote, visit the Georgia My Voter Page.

Election Day is May 24th. There'll also be Saturday voting on May 14th.
