Monroe County soldier dies in Kentucky car crash

According to a release from the Kentucky State Patrol, 20-year old Kolton L. Bush ran off the road and into a ravine.

FORSYTH, Ga. — A single-car crash killed a 20-year-old U.S. Army soldier from Forsyth, Georgia Sunday morning. 

According to a news release from Kentucky State Patrol, 20-year-old Kolton L. Bush was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up truck, and for an unknown reason left the roadway and went into a ravine. 

Bush was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County, Kentucky coroner.

According to KSP, it happened around 1 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 68 near Energy Lake Road. 

Preliminary investigations show Bush was stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, and was traveling west on U.S. Highway 68/80. 

The accident is still under investigation.
