What we know about Thursday's road rage shooting in Monroe Co.

The sheriff's office says the shooting happened around 4:33 p.m. on Highway 87.

A Jackson man says he shot and wounded another driver Thursday after the other man shot at him first.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the shooting was a case of road rage.

According to an incident report, it happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday on Highway 87 near Juliette.

The report says William Hindman says the other driver, Donald Bradley, swerved at him at least twice and cut him off as they passed each other on Highway 87.

When they reached the 87-Juliette Road intersection, Hindman said Bradley got out of his vehicle, walked toward him. Hindman said he told the other man to get back to his car.

Then Bradley walked back to his Ford F-150 pickup, turned around and started shooting, he said.

Hindman said he fired back with his own .38 revolver and hit Bradley.

Deputies arriving on the scene found Bradley lying in the road. He is now recovering at a local hospital.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says they've charged Bradley with aggravated assault.

An East Dublin man, Joseph Cargle, witnessed the shooting, according to the report. He told 13WMAZ that bullets struck his car.
