Central Georgia's top federal prosecutor is stepping down this month.
U.S. Attorney Michael Moore is leaving to work for an Atlanta law firm That's according to Brittney Kish-Lightsey, spokeswoman for his office.
She said Moore has regrets at leaving the job, but felt the move is best for his family.
He was appointed to the job in 2010... and has handled some high-profile cases. They include prosecuting some Bibb County deputies charged in a sting operation, a Macon man accused of selling plane parts to Iran and reviewing the shooting of Sammie Davis Junior by a Macon police officer.
His office is also investigating the death of Kendrick Johnson, a Valdosta high school student found trapped in a wrestling mat. That case has lasted more than two years.
