Man shot, killed in north Macon subdivision

The shooting happened in Lokchapee Landing off of Forest Hill Road in Macon.

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was shot in North Macon on Sunday, according to a press release. 

They say it happened in the 100 block of Lokchappee Landing just after 1:30 a.m. 

Deputies responded to area after getting a call about a person shot. 

When they got there they found 50-year-old Brian Brown with a single gunshot wound. 

It was reported that Brown walked outside and shortly after gunshots were heard. 

Brown was later pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. 

His body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. 

Bibb County Sheriff's Office Investigators are still determining what led up to the shooting.
