YouthUp Inc. hosts second annual Celebrity Chef Cook-Off fundraiser on Saturday in Macon

The cook-off was raising money for the Youth Leadership Council, whose members put together the event.

MACON, Ga. — YouthUp Inc. hosted their second annual Celebrity Chef Cook-Off fundraiser in Macon on Saturday.

The program is a recipient of Macon Violence Prevention funding, and hosted the cook-off to raise money for members of its Youth Leadership Council.

The Council is made up from teens in the area, and they helped plan and run the cook-off.

It was a fun competition where community leaders prepared their best dish to compete for awards and prizes. This year's lineup featured Macon pastors, along with a "Mystery Chef" (a community leader well-known for their service).

Dishes included A Taste of the Bahamas, Baked Ziti, Pork Chops over Rice, and Wings with Secret Sauce.

"We're so grateful for our chefs for stepping forward to show off their culinary skills!," said Executive Director Amanda Smith.

Guests paid $20 to sample all the dishes, and then voted for their favorite.

The competition was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
