MACON, Georgia — Kids can experience a fun way to learn about different careers this Saturday at a Youth Career Day at the Booker T. Washington Community Center.
They’ll get the opportunity to see Central Georgia entrepreneurs, business owners, and other professionals in a personal setting.
Melanated Community Stimulation Project founder, Jerrod Echols, wants the event to inspire children to pursue their dreams.
“You are pushed at 18 to go get a job. ‘You got to get a job, you got to get a job,’ but it’s never… a child comes to you with their dreams, we don’t often encourage the dream,” he said. “We encourage you being an adult and getting a job, so we want you to see ‘hey you want to be a doctor, here’s a doctor. If you want to be a painter, here’s a painter. You can do it,’ so that’s what we want to encourage.”
Career day will run from noon to 4 p.m. and admission is free.
