WORTH COUNTY, Ga. — A 21-year-old Georgia woman is in jail on murder charges after she allegedly killed her toddler in November.

According to a news release, Worth County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a child death at a home on Lovett Road in Sylvester on November 13.

When deputies got to the scene, they found the body of 2-year-old Joshua Swain.

An autopsy at the GBI Crime Lab revealed that the child’s death was due to “homicide caused by severe injuries.”

On January 10, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Chassity Nicole Swain, 21, and charged her with felony murder and child cruelty in the death of her son.

Warrants for murder and child cruelty were also obtained for 45-year-old Willie James Rhodes Jr., but his location is unknown right now.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Willie Rhodes can call the Worth County Sheriff’s Office at (229) 776-8211 or the GBI at (229)-777-2080.
