Angel Sewell was homeless for part of her life.
"I'm gonna go. I ain't gonna sit somewhere. If this ain't running, it can sit somewhere and be fixed and I'm gonna get my backpack and I'm gonna go somewhere. I don't like to stay put," Sewell said.
She's no stranger to traveling. Now, she's using her art skills to start her own business.
"You know it was rough, but I ended up making something good just from working hard out of something that had a lot of potential to be really bad," Sewell said.
She lives and works out of an RV with her business name, "Poor White Trash" painted on the side.
She said the name came from a childhood memory of another girl.
"Her mama had said that we were poor white trash, and I couldn't help where I was born. The years rolled around and I would hear it, and I would think back to that. If I'm poor white trash then you can't define what we are. Let me just go ahead and nip this in the bud," Sewell said
Sewell proudly rides around the Southeast with her business on display.
She said she's been painting windows, murals and signs for 30 years. Her prices start at $20 a window, but she's willing to negotiate based on a person's situation.
For now, she's been doing business on the east coast, but her goals just keep getting bigger.
"This is what I do now, 30-something years later, I go from town to town accomplishing my goal. That's to sell my art in every state in the United States. I ain't in no huge hurry," Sewell said.
For now, Sewell enjoys her time in Cochran visiting with her son and granddaughter.
