Woman pleads guilty to malice murder for 2022 shooting at Warner Robins food mart

The Houston County D.A.'s Office said Surayah Guyana Johnson pleaded guilty to one charge of malice murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A woman who shot and killed a man at a Warner Robins food mart back has pleaded guilty to malice murder on Friday.

In a release, the Houston County D.A.'s Office said 24-year-old Surayah Guyana Johnson pled guilty to one charge of malice murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

The charges stem from a case back in 2022, where Johnson was arrested after an argument led to a man's death.

At the time, reports said Jamal Colson was found dead by a gas pump at the 7-Star food mart.

"Upon officers' arrival, they found a man who had been shot near the gas pumps, and they were given information that there was a potential other people had been shot," Warner Robins Police Chief John Wagner said in a previous story.

Officers said Johnson pointed the gun toward the store, shooting two other women in the arm and leg, then shot Colson one more time before running away.

The two women were treated and later released.

The shooting was captured by the convenience store's security cameras, which was given to Warner Robins investigators and led to Johnson's arrest.

The district attorney's office says Johnson will serve life in prison at the State penitentiary for the malice murder charge, with two 20-year prison sentences tacked on for the aggravated assault charges.
