Country music artist and winner of 'The Voice' returns to his home state to perform at Macon's Cherry Blossom Festival

When he performed at the Crazy Bull a few years ago, he said he'd always "refer to Macon/Lizella as his 2nd home" because it is where he found his love for music.

MACON, Ga. — The Macon Cherry Blossom Festival announced its first nightly headliner for the Cherry Blossom Concert Series.

Winner of season 22 of the TV show 'The Voice,' Bryce Leatherwood, will perform on Saturday, March 23, 2024, on the Coca-Cola Entertainment Stage at Carolyn Crayton Park.

Leatherwood is a native of the Peach State and grew up in Woodstock, Georgia.

His biography said this is where he learned about country artists like George Jones, Merle Haggard and Conway Twitty when he worked on his grandpa's farm every summer.

His music career took off when he got to college, where he attended Georgia Southern University, played college venues and stage gigs, and formed his band.

After graduation, he decided to go on 'The Voice' and was crowned the show winner in December of 2022. Following his win, he signed with Universal Music Nashville.

He just released his new single, "The Finger," his first release since being on the show.

Leatherwood has a strong connection to Macon through his relationship with his granddaddy Jimmy McCallum, a Captain for 26 years with the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department.

In his official biography on the Cherry Blossom website, Bryce's Aunt said she was excited for him to be in Macon again. "We are so excited for our family superstar to return back to Macon and play for all of his family and friends who have supported him along this journey," Aunt Amy McCallum Stokes said."

She said that a few years ago, when Leatherwood performed at the Crazy Bull in Macon, he told the audience that "he'd always "refer to Macon/Lizella as his 2nd home" because it is where he found his love for music.
