WHEELER COUNTY, Ga. — One man is facing charges, and another man is wanted for two unrelated Wheeler County arson cases.

According to a release from the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's Office, 55-year-old William Jerome Gills, of Glenwood, is facing arson charges after he allegedly set fire in a mobile home salvage yard twice.

The release says, on two different occasions, Gillis set the fires at a vacant mobile home salvage yard where he worked as a night watchman.

The first fire happened on Jan. 6. and the second one happened on Feb. 1.

Both fires spread to other vacant mobile homes, the release says.

Investigators with the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office arrested Gills.

In another Wheeler County arson case, one man is wanted for allegedly setting fire to a home’s master bathroom closet.

A different release from the office says 41-year-old Damien Anthony Ferguson was living at a house when he set fire to the master bathroom closet Wednesday around 10 p.m.

The fire caused some damage in the master suite before it was put out, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King said in the release.

King said Ferguson left the house just before crews discovered the fire.

Investigators with Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office are helping the Wheeler County Fire Department and sheriff’s office with the case.

Ferguson is wanted for arson in the first degree.

Gills is charged with two counts of arson in the first degree and he is being held at the Wheeler County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
