Warner Robins house fire sends resident to hospital, cat rescued from house

The fire, located in the 300 block of Alabama Avenue, sent a resident to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation. They are expected to be okay.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Warner Robins resident was taken to the hospital after a kitchen fire Friday afternoon that damaged their home, Warner Robins Assistant Fire Chief Scott Renfroe said.

He says that crews were dispatched at around 4:30 p.m. Friday for a residential fire.

The fire, located in the 300 block of Alabama Avenue near Northside High School, caused "moderate damage" to the home, Renfroe said, but the home is currently not livable.

He also said that a cat was rescued during the fire.

The resident of the home suffered from minor smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital so doctors could check them out.

Renfroe says that they expect them to be okay.

This is a developing story.
