Warner Robins doctor accused of filing fraudulent prescriptions bond set at $15K during hearing

Dr. Alan Struth was arrested in June on three counts of drug conspiracy charges, warrants show.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Warner Robins doctor arrested for making dozens of fraudulent prescriptions appeared in court for a bond hearing on Thursday.

Dr. Alan Struth was arrested in June on three counts of drug conspiracy charges, warrants show.

According to the Houston Healthcare website, Struth is 74-years-old and has offices on North Houston Road.

Warrants say Struth and another person, Karlee Steele, distributed thousands of doses of Alprazolam, which is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, as well as opioids, like Hydrocodone and Oxycodone.

They allegedly committed the crimes from November 2021 until June 21, 2024.

When 13WMAZ first reported this story, we weren’t sure what Struth and Steele’s relationship was. On Thursday, prosecutors allege the pair were having an affair.

Prosecutors said Struth traded drugs with Steele over the course of several months.  They say it was an "extreme amount of pills" and estimated it could be around 10,000 pills traded between the two.

Prosecutors say Steele might not be the only person Struth traded drugs with.

“He provided her a prescription pad and he would sign these prescriptions were issued in multiple parties’ names, he did not always issue it in Ms. Steele’s name but he knew that he was issuing prescriptions for people that were never his patients," prosecutors said during the hearing.

During the hearing, it was determined that Struth was not a flight risk. Struth was told his license to practice medicine is temporarily suspended. He is now facing felony charges.

Struth's bond was set at $15,000.

Steel's bond was set at $7,500 and she was released on July 2.

Struth is not allowed to have contact with Steele or his relatives as a condition of the bond.
