Here's who'll take the stage at Warner Robins' Independence Day concert

Two of the artists were scheduled to perform at last year's festivities but were sidelined due to weather.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Get ready to rock at the Warner Robins Independence Day Celebration! The city announced the line-up for the annual free concert scheduled for June 29.

Scott Stapp — the lead singer of Creed  and 70s classic Jefferson Starship whose hit "We Built This City" will be rocking through the parking lot of McConnell-Talbert Stadium.

Both acts had previously been slated to perform last July, but they were sidelined due to weather issues. Now, they'll be back in Central Georgia to help celebrate Independence Day with hopefully sunnier skies.

"Due to overwhelming community feedback following last year's rainout, the City of Warner Robins is delighted to bring back two powerhouse acts that were unable to perform," the city said in a press release. "It promises to be an evening filled with electrifying performances and musical magic."

Stapp, who appears to play a mix of solo and Creed songs during his concerts, is originally from Orlando and rose to prominence with the hard rock, arena band. The band is known for songs like "One Last Breath" and "With Arms Wide Open."

Jefferson Starship, which has also gone by the name of Jefferson Airplane and Starship, is from San Francisco. On top of "We Built this City," they are known for songs like "Miracles" and "It's Not Enough."

The city also notes that Jefferson Starship is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, too. The Independence Day Celebration in Warner Robins is also celebrating its 41st year kicking off the July 4th holiday festivities.

Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick says that they are also planning on bringing some local bands to the stage, too.

But, after all of it, they are set to have a fireworks display to wrap up the festivities.

"As always, the Independence Day Celebration Event will culminate with the grandeur of the greatest fireworks show around," the city said. "Brace yourselves for a breathtaking display that will light up the night sky and leave lasting memories for all attendees."

The city says they'll provide more details closer to the event.
