Hear what locals have to say about the drive-by shooting in Warner Robins

People say the neighborhood is quiet, but didn't think a shooting would happen here.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Shirley Drive is off South Pleasant Hill Court in Warner Robins. It's also the street where a drive-by shooting happened Sunday, injuring four people.

People who live in the neighborhood told 13WMAZ that the area is quiet but can be busy because Pleasant Hill Court is the main connector between Watson Boulevard and Russell Parkway.

Lessie Collins has lived in the neighborhood for more than 30 years. She says she was at home watching TV during the shooting. She says she knows the homeowner but they've never disturbed her.

"He looks like he has a party once in a while but I don't get disturbed by them," Collins said.

Collins says she was worried about the four people who were shot.

Shirley Drive is near Warner Robins High School and off the main connector of Watson Boulevard and Russell Parkway.

Around 9:15 pm on Sunday, someone drove by a home on Shirley Drive and started shooting at the home. Four people were shot and taken to the hospital. Collins says when she heard the gunshots, she was scared.

"And then I started thinking, 'Oh God, I hope they didn't shoot anybody's cars or our houses," Collins said.

Julie Floyd lives less than half a mile away from the home. She told 13WMAZ she's lived in the neighborhood for almost 20 years. She says she didn't think someone would start shooting at her neighbors since everyone in the neighborhood gets along.

"The others are just peaceful. They mind their business, they have things to do and even the kids are good," Floyd said.

Collins says she's relieved no one was killed.

Right now, Warner Robins Police Department has not released any new information. The four victims are being treated at the hospital and are in stable condition.
