WRPD: Man convicted, sentenced to life in prison for 2023 Warner Robins murder

The shooting happened back in May 2023 on Wendan Way, the Warner Robins Police Department said.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A man was convicted of shooting and killing a man in Warner Robins on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Warner Robins Police Department.

They say Andrew Slocumb was connected to the May 29, 2023 shooting that left 48-year-old Anthony Presley dead. Slocumb was convicted of murder by a Houston County jury on Wednesday and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

They say shooting happened at around 12:45 p.m. that afternoon. It happened in the 100 block of Wendan Way off Green Street.

While patrol offices attempted to save Presley’s life, he would die on the scene, according to the press release.

Slocumb was arrested in Indiana, the press release said, after the Southeast Regional Task Force was able to locate his vehicle in Rome, Georgia.

The Warner Robins Police Department thanked its officers for its work on the case along with the U.S. Marshall’s Southeast Regional Task Force and the Rome Police Department for their help in this case.

"This is an example of comprehensive swift justice, as it should be," District Attorney Will Kendall said. "Although we cannot bring Mr. Presley back, we hoped to have provided some closure to the family."
