There was damage in Houston County, including broken windows and trees snapped in half, after the neighborhood was hit by a confirmed tornado.
Houston County EMA Chief Jimmy Williams said the tornado was level F-1, meaning it was moving between 73 miles per hour and 112 miles per hour.
That was fast enough to blow the roof off of of a home on Pitts Road and knock it off its foundation.
Williams says the family of four that was inside was lucky to escape without injury.
"If it had been in a normal underpinning, I believe the air would have took that trailer and done more damage to it, rolled it and done several other things possibly," Williams said, "So they were extremely fortunate to just get pushed off the foundation and everyone come out without being injured."
Williams says although tornadoes usually happen in warmer months, they can occur anytime.
