HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — The last three months of the year are jam-packed with holidays.
With Halloween, Thanksgiving and the myriad of holidays celebrated in December, when one holiday ends, the next one begins.
While some people will celebrate Halloween through this weekend, others are getting prepared for the rest of the season's holidays. Halloween candy prices and decorations are marked down in the back of stores, as they welcome Santa Claus back to town.
Christmas donuts and cakes are on full display in Kroger and trees are awaiting presents in Lowes.
Like many others, Joshua Peterson is getting in the spirit at Hobby Lobby, where they already have Christmas decorations on sale.
"To get some picture frames that we saw on TikTok to put on the Christmas tree so we can record our pictures over the years," Peterson said.
Still hoping to hold onto the fall? Man stores still have plenty of Thanksgiving items on the shelves. Turkeys, stuffing and decorated plates are available to grab.
Rock N' Roll Sushi on Highway 96 is already decking the halls.
"We actually started on Halloween last year also. We really wanted to get a kick start on the holiday," Managing Partner, Alissa Prussia said.
The store front is adorned with a massive inflatable Santa Claus, and the interior has plenty of nutcrackers around the restaurant and presents under the tree.
"This year we wanted to go even further in our decorating," Prussia said.
Rock N' Roll Sushi is taking it a step forward in its efforts to win the Southern Santa of Houston County bar crawl.
The Bar crawl happens Saturday at 9 p.m. It costs $20 to get a fire engine sleigh ride to 10 businesses along Highway 96. Each location will have specialty holiday treats. Here's a link to sign up for the tickets.
It's the first year of the event, and the proceeds will go to help the organization's "Shop with a Firefighter" program.
Prussia said guests and fans of the restaurant can look forward to trying Grinch margaritas, sugar cookie martinis and more.
"We have a full bar and we have a lot of specialty cocktails and drinks that we really want to showcase," she said.
Prussia added that they're hoping to share more than menu items.
"We'd like to convert that non-sushi eater to a sushi lover and just keeping it fun," she said. "In the midst of chaos outside, we wanted to create like a very fun festive environment for our community."
