For the second year in a row Feagin Mill Middle School earns the recognition of a Green Ribbon School.

The national awards program chooses schools based on four different areas including health and fitness, eco-campus, natural classrooms and a nature adventure.

Students must also publish at least four projects throughout the year to be eligible.

This year the projects consisted of creating endangered species flyers, a biggest loser competition among teachers, and education about nature and recycling.

Computer Science teacher and leader of the program at the school, Brian Lewis, says they have been recycling for the past four years.

The goal of the program each year is to earn money to purchase computer software that is used to educate the students on various subjects.
