WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Warner Robins area is getting a new 130,000-square-foot aerospace manufacturing facility, which is expected to bring 75 new full-time manufacturing jobs, the city announced in a press release.
The company, KIHOMAC, is set to break ground on Thursday.
Expected to be completed in 2025, the city says they believe the new facility will help by "significantly enhancing the local manufacturing base in support of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex at Robins Air Force Base."
The new plant is expected to open at the Robins International Industrial Park located at 101 Leamington Boulevard.
At the facility, the city says the KIHOMAC facility will focus on manufacturing metal, composite and electrical components for various aerospace uses.
“The City of Warner Robins welcomes KIHOMAC to the City’s growing industrial landscape. These new industrial jobs are an exciting opportunity for our residents. Industries like this play a vital role in sustaining and modernizing equipment essential to the operations at Robins Air Force Base,” Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said in the press release.
The company, KIHOMAC, is based out of Reston, Virginia. That's located just outside of Washington DC.
The CEO and founder, Ki Ho Kang, says in the press release that KIHOMAC is looking forward to opening this new facility in the Warner Robins area.
"We are thrilled to bring this new facility to Warner Robins. This community represents the spirit of hard work and resilience and we’re honored to contribute to the region’s growth,” he said.
In their press release, Warner Robins says that the effort to bring the facility to the area came as part of a partnership with the company, the city and the Joint Development Authority of Peach County.
