'We don't know what we don't know' | Warner Robins seeking improvement through community survey

The survey will close on Monday at 11:59 p.m.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — If you have thoughts on how the city of Warner Robins is growing, or concerns you'd like to share, Warner Robins wants to hear from you.

The city says it's working on finding their true identity in their branding project and are looking for ways to improve.

When you think of the city, you may think of the Air Force Base, or the phrase 'International City,' but Shawn Brown-Wilby thinks of home.

"I was born and raised in Jamaica, so I'm family oriented. I get that feeling when I'm here in Warner Robins," she said.

Homely, friendly, and community driven are words Brown-Wilby uses to describe her home of 10 years. She moved to Macon for work, but chose to live in Warner Robins for the school system.

"My son, I wanted him to go to HOCO," she said.

Plus, she says it's easy to stay informed between neighborhood watch and social media.

"There's always someone willing to help willing to give you information if you need it," she said.

When that's not enough, there's always City Hall. That's where Brown-Wilby went to meet her needs Thursday.

Now, the city wants to collect all of your feedback in their new community survey.

"Something that we want to do is bring everyone to the table whether they've been here for many, many years or whether they, I like to call them a transplant, they moved here and decided to put roots down here like me and my family," Jeremy Fermin said.

Fermin is a Marketing and Communications Specialist with the city. He says this survey will allow them to 'define the story' of the city. He also says it will help them "make Warner Robins the best place to be".

The survey asks everything from how you rank the quality of living to how you feel about their customer service.

"Once we get that, we can improve upon it. Like I said, we don't know what we don't know," Fermin said.

If you have things you'd like to see changed, they recommend filling out the survey.

Warner Robins also is improving communication through their new website and app. Fermin says you'll find information on upcoming events, but you can also share your concerns no matter what they are.

Under 'report a concern' the city can better connect you with the proper help.

"Having a professional dialogue where we can both grow together is how we can make this a great place to live, work, and play," he said.
