Neighbors say Oak Haven Park is rarely used, but the Vineville Garden Club wants to change that.
They've planted two Gem Magnolia trees at Oak Haven Park to kick off the project, but it's not stopping there.
By the end of April, they hope to finish phase 1, which will include a paved trail for bike rides, and a playing field for the kids.
"We plan to have flower plantings here and educational programs. One of the things that we really want to do is bring pollinators to the park -- we really need to bring these bees back -- and so we will be planting flowers in the future," said President of Vineville Garden Club Maria De la Sierra.
After phase 1 is completed, they hope to create a picnic area to attract families to the park, and they also hope to install a fountain.
