UPDATE: A news release from the Bibb County District Attorney David Cooke's office says 17-year-old Jokester 'JC' Ussery is charged with making terroristic threats.
It says Ussery allegedly made threats on Valentine's Day to shoot up the high school.
Roberta Police were notified about the threats on Tuesday since Ussery was not in school Thursday, and students were out on Friday and Monday for Presidents' Day.
Students at the school were on edge all day Tuesday.
"It was very terrifying. I was doing my work, but it was kind of scary at the same time," Crawford County High student Hannah Meeks said. "What if something really does happen? There's nothing I can do."
Ussery was arrested Tuesday and his bond was set at $5,000.
"He's pretty quiet. He doesn't really talk and he doesn't ride the bus or nothing," Meeks said. "I don't have classes with him. I don't think I don't really see him around school."
The release says Ussery is barred from having weapons in his home.
A Facebook post from Crawford County Schools says he is suspended pending a tribunal.
Meeks says school leaders told them not to call or text their parents about what was going on at school. That didn't sit right with her mom, Jeni Meeks. She says she worried all afternoon.
"You don't tell a scared child not to get in contact with their parents when the school hasn't even contacted us yet," Meeks said. "That was the only way we found out was from our children."
She and other parents eventually got a call later Tuesday afternoon, but Meeks said that wasn't soon enough. She says she's still not convinced her daughter's completely safe.
"I know they say they have them arrested and detained, but it still in the back of my mind, 'What if somebody else makes a threat?'" Jeni Meeks said. "What if other students are involved? It's a lot of what ifs, and I'm not sure about sending her back just yet."
