A shooting after a party in Cochran Friday left one man dead.
According to Special Agent in Charge Scott Whitley with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, it happened just after midnight at the Community House on South Third Street.
Whitley said the space where it happened is near the Cochran campus of Middle Georgia State University.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the victim was 24-year-old Devonte Raqualle Johnson of East Dublin. He was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health where he died upon arrival.
Whitley said he is not believed to be a student at the school.
The campus was on lockdown for a few hours, but was lifted.
No information is available on what led to the shooting or a description of the shooter.
The Cochran Police Department and Middle Georgia State campus police are still investigating.
South Third Street re-opened to traffic a little after 8:30 a.m.
