United Way of Central Georgia plans session with Houston County leaders on homelessness initiative

On Monday, the United Way of Central Georgia planned a session with Houston County leaders about their End Homelessness expansion.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — On Monday, Mayor LaRhonda Patrick hosted the second Homelessness initiative meeting with leaders from the City of Warner Robins.

Other Houston County business, government, and nonprofit leaders were also at the meeting.

Mayor Patrick and the United Way of Central Georgia planned the session to discuss the expansion of the United to End Homelessness initiative in the Houston County area.

They both plan to form the Greater Houston Coalition to put in place a plan of action to help the homeless community.

The United Way of Central Georgia started the United to End Homelessness initiative in October in Macon-Bibb County.

This local initiative allowed providers, community members, government agencies, and others to work together to develop a plan to decrease the number of people from staying or becoming homeless.
