Two people charged with stealing Goldendoodle puppies from Macon pet store

Investigators say the pair were in the store the day before the burglary, asking about the puppies

MACON, Ga. — Two people were arrested Friday after they allegedly stole two valuable Goldendoodle puppies from a Macon pet store.

According to a news release, Ronnie and Tonia Causey were in the Hartley Bridge Road pet store the day before the puppies were stolen.

After further investigation, deputies determined it was Ronnie and Tonia who called the pet store anonymously on Wednesday about the dogs being returned.

They were found in crates in front of the Domino’s Pizza restaurant next to the pet store around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Ronnie Causey is being held without bond on charges of burglary and probation violation.

Tonia Causey is being held on a $8,450 bond on charges of burglary and probation violation.
