CORDELE, Ga. — Two people were shot after a fight at a pool room in Cordele, according to a press release from the Cordele Police Department.
They say police were called out to Odom's Pool Room at 412 W 16th Avenue about a shooting on Saturday.
When officers got there they found a 32-year-old woman who had been shot. She was then taken to Crisp Regional Hospital.
Another victim, a 44-year-old man, was driven to the hospital in a car. Police were able to speak with him at the hospital.
They say the 44-year-old was later identified as Jemiah Blount of Cordele. He was working security in the pool room.
While working, Blount got into a "verbal altercation" with an unidentified man and the two shot at each other.
During the shooting, the 32-year-old woman was standing in a parking lot across the street from the pool room when she was shot.
One car in the parking lot of Odom's Pool Room was damaged by bullets and another car driving down 16th Avenue was shot.
Blount was arrested after he was treated at the hospital for his injuries.
He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes and Terrorist Acts.
