MACON, Ga. — People crossing the Spring Street bridge on Friday saw an unusual sight.
Bibb deputies say the Ocmulgee River rushed in and flooded an SUV that had been sitting at the interchange construction area for about a week now.
Investigators sent in divers to make sure no one was inside.
When they found out it was empty, they left it.
But that area wasn't the only part of Macon dealing with high waters after Thursday's storms.
The rain also caused some parts of downtown to flood.
"It's miserable. I've been out walking around in this rain in Macon, Georgia all day long," said Bill McQuarter.
On Thursday evening, Bay Street had several inches of water covering part of the road, as water gushed down the side of a bridge.
