PERRY, Ga. — Lots of middle Georgia families headed to Perry Saturday morning for the second annual Touch a Truck event.
Kids got to see their favorite trucks and heavy duty equipment up close, all while helping the Rainbow House Children's Resource Center.
Tickets were $5 each, and kids got to explore fire trucks, law enforcement vehicles, a bucket truck, a helicopter, a bookmobile, and more.
Family passes were also available for $20, and included entry for 4 or more guests.
All the proceeds went to the Rainbow House Children's Resource Center. The Center is "devoted to reducing the occurrence of child abuse and neglect and to assisting the victims."
There was also a quiet hour in the morning, so kids with sensory or auditory sensitivities could still see all the trucks and machines without sirens or loud noises.
Altogether, there were around 1,300 people at Touch a Truck, and they raised more than $18,000 for the Rainbow House Children's Resource Center.
