TELFAIR COUNTY, Ga. — A correctional officer at Telfair State Prison is recovering after an assault by an inmate last week.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, the alleged assault happened in the prison on February 13.
They say the corrections officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and the incident remains under investigation.
The Department of Corrections declined to give specifics on what happened.
