The attorneys of Ryan Duke, the man accused of killing Tara Grinstead, filed a motion asking the judge to grant Duke bond on Friday.
The motion states that Duke has no prior felony arrests or convictions on his record, was arrested without incident after he was questioned about Grinstead's death, and poses no threat of running away from the area.
Meanwhile, Duke's alleged accomplice, Bo Dukes, is on the run after police say he committed rape and other crimes.
According to the motion, Ryan Duke's attorneys think that he poses no risk of running away, failing to appear in court, or committing a felony while he waits for trial.
The motion went on to say Ryan Duke does not have the financial means to make a significant bond, so the attorneys ask for the bond to be set at $10,000.
The motion also states that Duke and his attorneys did not file a motion before January 4, 2019 because he was fearful of any retaliation from his co-defendant, Bo Dukes,
