S&S Cafeteria in north Macon catches on fire overnight, fire chief says

It happened around 12 a.m. on Sunday.

MACON, Ga. — A restaurant in north Macon, S&S Cafeteria, caught on fire overnight, Macon-Bibb fire chief Shane Edwards said.

Edwards said that the restaurant on 2626 Riverside Drive was first on fire around 12 a.m. on Sunday. 

He said the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen. He added that it appeared to be an accident and that there was no ill intentions.

Edwards said Macon-Bibb fire fighters quickly arrived to the scene and eventually got the fire under control. 

The fire was gone and the firefighters were out of there around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. No injuries were reported. 

The fire is still currently under investigation. 13WMAZ will update this story as more information becomes available.
