If you're looking to take a vacation soon, you may want to consider heading down I-16 to 'the Emerald City' -- Dublin.
The city is making national news because the Smithsonian ranked it #3 in its list of of the '20 Best Small Towns to Visit This Year.'
Mono Lito Cruz is the general manager of Page's Bed and Breakfast and he says business has been great lately.
"Last year we saw an immense amount of what I call wayward travelers, people who are just going on tours," Cruz said.
This year, Cruz says things have only gotten better.
"This year what we have noticed is a lot of international travelers," Cruz said.
That #3 ranking is something Visit Dublin director Rebecca McWilliam says her team has worked tirelessly to achieve.
"Everybody has worked so hard to make this happen -- preserving downtown, small businesses," McWilliam said.
One of the reasons Dublin was ranked one of the top small cities by the Smithsonian is because of audio boxes that are located across the Emerald City.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. monument, Theater Dublin, Company Supply, and Dublin paying tribute to its Irish roots are a few more reasons the city ranked so high.
With the recognition, McWilliam says Visit Dublin is constantly finding new ways to get more people to visit.
"We're currently working on a mobile lab and a walking tour of Bellevue Ave. Bellevue Ave has some of the most beautiful homes in Dublin," McWilliam said.
As for Cruz, he hopes this ranking will continue to bring tourists to his bed and breakfast.
"It's just nice to chat with people, people who come to a bed and breakfast are always really friendly, even if they are here for business," Cruz said.
