MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A seven-year-old in Monroe County accidentally shot his 12-year-old sister on Saturday morning after mistaking a real weapon for his airsoft gun.
A release by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said units were dispatched to a subdivision off of Sanders Road on Saturday morning around 11 a.m.
They said the seven-year-old thought he was grabbing his airsoft gun, but mistakenly grabbed a 22-caliber handgun and shot his 12-year-old sister.
