SANDERSVILLE, Ga. — A man is dead after a two-vehicle car crash just outside of Sandersville, Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran said.

Cochran said that Bobby Dalton, 55, was driving a Toyota Tacoma and was traveling westbound on West Church Street around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. Cochran added another driver, a 20-year-old driving a Honda Accord, was attempting to pass Dalton in a no-passing lane.

Cochran said Dalton was making a left-hand turn, which was when he was "t-boned" by the other driver as they were attempting to pass him. He added Dalton did not survive the crash and that next of kin have been notified.

Cochran said the case is currently being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
