PERRY, Ga. — Saddle up Central Georgia, because the "Southeastern Showdown" of rodeo events was held on Sunday in Perry.
The Georgia High School Rodeo Association had information about the event on their website, and both high school and junior high students could sign up to participate.
Contestants could compete in a range of rodeo challenges, like breakaway roping, barrel races, slide roping, reigning, and much more.
The event was held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds, in Southerland Arena.
The event began on Friday and lasted through Sunday, with students from 8 southeastern states competing.
There was estimated to be over 2,800 people in attendance.
