Where you can recycle your live Christmas trees in Central Georgia

All across the state on Saturday, live Christmas trees will be recycled.

MACON, Ga. — The holiday season is over, and Keep Georgia Beautiful wants you to do your part to make sure your live Christmas tree doesn't end up in a landfill.

All across the state on Saturday, Jan. 4, hundreds of trees will be recycled and chipped up for mulch.

According to the Keep Georgia Beautiful website, the mulch is used for playgrounds, government beautification projects, parks, and personal yards.

The organization started the program 29 years ago, and since then, over six million trees have been recycled in the state.

Here's where you can recycle your live tree in Central Georgia.
