The 2018 Georgia National Fair will kick off on October 4.
As always, the fair will have classic fan favorites, but this year, a new attraction is being born.
In April, the fairground broke ground for their new baby barn, and now they finally get to show it off.
"This is a new feature we have here at the Georgia National Fair, and this is going to showcase and educate people on the birthing process of a livestock animal," said Marketing Director for the fairgrounds, Keaton Walker.
Livestock animals, such as pigs and cows, have made their way into their temporary homes.
Walker says all of the animals are from right here in Georgia.
"We have a local farm that's here, that's pretty central to Central Georgia, that are bringing in our mommas and future babies," Walker said.
But, the baby barn isn't the only feature of the fair preparing for opening day -- so are all of the vendors.
Robert Allen is a vendor for Cox Concessions. He says the set up process is tedious.
"We've been setting up for a good minute, and it's always hard to get it set up," Allen said.
Allen says it's hard work, but work that always results in a winning reaction.
"When you see everyone come over here with their families, it's worth it," Allen said.
Vendors will serve up staple fair foods from corn dogs to funnel cakes, but the fan favorite, Allen says, is turkey legs.
Allen says no matter what you have a taste for, be sure to bring your appetite.
"I don't know how someone can eat such a big turkey leg all by themselves, but people do it every year," Allen said.
This year, the fair will run from October 4 to 14.
It's a time Walker says is the most wonderful time of the year.
"It's a lot like Christmas for us, everyone is super excited and ready to go," Walker said.
Walker also mentioned safety is a top priority at the fair.
Every ride has its own personal engineer to make sure everything is operating as usual.
An engineer from the state also comes to double and triple check ride safety, before the first rider ever gets on.
