PERRY, Ga. — Perry native Cam Vance is about to take a major step in his music career as he prepares to perform on the main stage at the Georgia National Fair.
The country music performer, who has been steadily growing his fan base through TikTok and live performances, is excited to come home and entertain the same community where he grew up.
"This is a dream come true," Vance said. "I went to the Georgia National Fair every year as a kid. I never imagined I’d be the one performing on the main stage in front of all my family and friends."
Vance’s journey from fairgoer to performer is something he calls a full-circle moment. Growing up in Perry, he was no stranger to the fairgrounds and spent many years as a fan in the audience.
“I remember watching all these big country acts perform and thinking how amazing it would be to do that one day. Now, to have that chance myself is honestly surreal,” he said.
The country artist, who has over 11,000 followers on TikTok, has seen his popularity skyrocket in recent months, with his music resonating with listeners both locally and beyond.
"Social media has been a huge part of how I've been able to connect with fans," Vance said. "I feel like I'm able to reach people who might not otherwise have found my music, and it’s really special to know that people are enjoying what I’m putting out there."
For Vance, performing at the fair isn't just about entertaining; it's about giving back to a community that helped shape him.
“Perry and Middle Georgia are home to me,” Vance said. “These are the people who supported me from the beginning. To be able to come back and put on a show for them is something I’ll never forget.”
As for what fans can expect from his set, Vance says he’ll be bringing his signature blend of modern and classic country music.
“I love keeping things traditional but also adding a bit of my own twist. I’ll be playing some original songs, and of course, I’ve got a few covers of the country greats lined up.”
Despite his growing success, Vance remains grounded and humble, always remembering his roots.
"I feel lucky to be where I am, and I don’t take any of it for granted," he said. "I’m just really excited to get out there and do what I love, especially there at the fair."
Vance’s performances are scheduled throughout the week at the Georgia National Fair. As he prepares to take the stage, he’s grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the crowd.
“This community means everything to me, and I hope they’re ready for a great show.”
