A Peach County woman died Monday night after being hit by a car while crossing the road.
According to Coroner Kerry Rooks, it happened on Boy Scout Road around 7 p.m.
He says it appears 57-year-old Caryn Whitaker was walking out in the road when she was hit. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rooks says Whitaker lived about half a mile from the scene of the accident.
