44-year-old dead after crash on Jeffersonville Road, victim identified, coroner says

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

MACON, Ga. — One person is dead after a crash on Jeffersonville Road in east Macon, according to Coroner Leon Jones. 

Jones says it happened around 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning right past the intersection between Jeffersonville Road and Finneydale Drive.

The Bibb Couty Sheriff's Office identified the victim of 44-year-old D'Mya Clark of Twiggs County. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

They say that Clark's Dodge Caravan was heading west on Jeffersonville Road when it appeared Clark lost control of the vehicle and struck a semi-truck in the turn lane. 

The sheriff's office says the truck driver was inside the hood of the cab, which was lifted at the time of the crash. The truck driver only suffered from minor injuries. 

The accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information related to the crash is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office Fatality Investigators Office at 478-751-7500. 

The Bibb Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. Information on what led to the crash is not currently available. The driver of the SUV’s identity has not been released.
