New CBD store comes to Milledgeville

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is working to learn more information about CBD

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — A new shop selling Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is opening up in Milledgeville, but the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says it still has a lot of unanswered questions about the product.

Steven Davis owns 'Your CBD Store' and says since they opened a month ago, business has been great.

"So I ended up coming back to Georgia and re-supplied myself and it was wonderful," Davis said.

That is only one example showing how CBD has helped him.

"I get in my truck, three and half hours later, and I wonder, 'naw it could not be that,' but yes the gummy bears work too," Davis said.

Davis says after his experience he decided to open a store in Baldwin County.

"It is my third store. We got a very warm reception. The community has embraced us well, we were kind of wondering how that would work," Davis said.

His store is not the first CBD supplier in Central Georgia. You can find one in Macon off Riverside Drive, but what exactly are they selling?

"Marijuana is much different than hemp. Our products are hemp derived. Marijuana has a naturally-high THC level, and a very low CBD level, whereas hemp is just the opposite, a very low THC level and a very high CBD level," Davis said.

They claim their products help anxiety and even pain.

13WMAZ reached out to Navicent Health for an interview, but instead they gave us this statement:

"As with all medications, the use of medical cannabis or CBD oil should be a discussion between each physician and his or her patient with consideration of the State Medical Board and both state and federal law." - Spokeswoman for Navicent, Megan Allen

The FDA says they are working on answering safety questions about the popular product and researching items for sale. Despite that warning, Davis says he's seen no cause for any safety worries.
