The 8th Annual NASA Stem Conference blasted off on Saturday at the Museum of Aviation.
Over 100 Pre-K to 12th grade teachers packed into class rooms to learn a variety of hands on STEM workshops that they can turn around and teach their students.
The goal is to engage their students in STEM education and inspire them to pursue careers in STEM-related fields.
Director of the program, Clare Swinford says it's important for this to be more than just educational but fun as well.
"And that's important because so many kids and students and teachers all of us learn in different ways, but everyone can learn with STEM and using the hands on activities and projects to see how fun it can be and how it applies to a career one day," she says.
