This week's My Teacher is Tops is Mrs. Traci Copeland at Johnson County Elementary School

13WMAZ got to make a big surprise for a person who teaches the smallest students!

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ga. — In Georgia, there are more than 120,000 teachers and many student's very first teachers are in kindergarten.

At Johnson County Elementary School, 13WMAZ got to make a big surprise for a person who teaches the smallest students!

Mrs. Traci Copeland, better known as Mrs. Traci, has 29 years of teaching experience and has been at Johnson County Elementary for six years.

She says she is blessed to have her students in the classroom because they are eager to learn and grow.

Mrs. Traci loves teaching kindergarten because students at a young age have a passion for learning.

The student who nominated Mrs. Traci, Kourtney Garnto,  is still learning how to read so she got a little help from her Top Teacher.

"She teaches me to be respectful and kind," Garnto said.

Mrs. Tracie said she felt led by God to teach.

"I love children, I loved that time in my life and I wanted to be sure that when I was working with these children that, that was a special time for them and it stayed pure and wonderful and I helped them grow," she said.

Congratulations Ms. Copeland!
